Acting as the quarterback of the entire wealth relationship, the Wealth Advisor brings together a team of specialists to deliver a coordinated and comprehensive wealth management experience tailored to each client's unique needs.

This role is responsible for developing new client relationships, deepening existing relationships, and leading the delivery of customized planning, investment, trust, fiduciary, banking, and credit solutions. The Wealth Advisor is a highly visible business partner who collaborates closely with colleagues across Wealth Management and the Community Bank to identify opportunities, enhance client relationships, and ensure a seamless client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the "quarterback" of the client relationship by bringing together and leading a team of specialists, including Client Managers, Investment Advisors, Trust Officers, Credit partners, and other subject matter experts.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client's financial circumstances, goals, family dynamics, and priorities to create customized wealth strategies.
  • Partner closely with Community Bank leaders, Relationship Managers, and branch teams to identify referrals, uncover opportunities, and provide wealth management expertise to clients and prospects.
  • Lead client relationship strategy discussions and coordinate ongoing service and planning reviews to ensure solutions remain aligned with clients' evolving needs and objectives.
  • Build, grow, and retain a portfolio of affluent and high-net-worth client relationships through proactive business development, center-of-influence networking, and internal referral partnerships.
  • Leverage the full capabilities of M&T Bank and Wilmington Trust to deliver integrated banking, lending, investment, fiduciary, and planning solutions.
  • Maintain a disciplined business development process, managing prospect pipelines and relationship activities to support long-term revenue growth.
  • Foster strong collaboration across Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Private Banking, and Retail Banking teams to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements, bank policies, and risk management standards.
  • Responsible for meeting and maintaining registration requirements under the Federal SAFE Act.

The Wealth Advisor plays a critical role in driving growth across the Wealth Advisory business while strengthening relationships throughout the bank. Success in this role is achieved not only through new business development and revenue generation, but also through the ability to build trusted relationships, coordinate internal resources, and deliver a highly personalized client experience that reflects the full value of the M&T and Wilmington Trust franchise.
