JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Wealth Manager
Location: San Diego, CA
Rate: $140-160k+/base + performance bonus and participation in revenue generated from client relationship and new business.
Reporting to: Head of Wealth Management
Position Overview:
The Wealth Manager is responsible for leading high-net-worth client relationships and delivering comprehensive advice across financial, investment, tax, estate, and long-term planning.
This role requires sound judgment, strong client presence, and the ability to operate with full accountability for client outcomes. Advisors in this role work closely with leadership and investment professionals to deliver a consistent, high-quality client experience.
In addition to client advisory responsibilities, this role is expected to contribute to the firm's growth by closing high-net-worth client opportunities and developing new relationships through referrals.
This role is suited for individuals who want to operate at a high level within a collaborative, client-focused advisory environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be fully accountable for client relationships, including advice, communication, and outcomes
- Lead the development and delivery of integrated wealth strategies
- Advise on portfolios and financial decisions tied to client assets
- Conduct client and prospective client meetings with clarity and confidence
- There is an opportunity to step into and support existing client relationships early, with increasing responsibility and ownership based on demonstrated capability and fit
- Identify risks and opportunities across client situations and provide clear, actionable guidance
- Work closely with internal team members and external advisors (CPAs, attorneys) to implement strategies
- Contribute to client growth through relationship expansion and new client development
- Provide leadership within the advisory team and support the development of junior professionals
- Operate within the firm's advisory model and team structure with a focus on execution and follow-through
Position Requirements: - 8+ years of experience in wealth management or financial advisory
- Experience advising high-net-worth clients
- CFP required; additional credentials (CFA, CPA, MBA, JD) preferred
- Existing book of business is valued but not required
- Strong understanding of financial planning, tax, estate structures, and portfolio strategy
