We’re seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Weather Anchor to join our top-rated AM Live and Midday teams. This person will be responsible for producing and presenting accurate, engaging forecasts with a focus on how the weather impacts our viewers. The successful candidate will embrace new technology, excel at severe weather coverage for linear and digital platforms, and thrive in a team setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Ability to analyze weather information and identify important atmospheric events
+ Skilled in using computer model data to produce accurate forecasts
+ Confidence delivering weather, fire, and earthquake information live on the air, including during emergency situations
+ Proficient in producing weather graphics
+ Three years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Meteorology degree or certificate
+ Knowledge of Dalet and weather software
Required Education:
+ Bachelor of Science degree
Preferred Education:
+ Degree in Meteorology or associated geoscience
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between SAG-AFTRA and KFSN-TV. The pay rate for this role in Fresno, California is $36.06 to $50.48 per hour. The pay rate actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The role also has potential for additional compensation for overtime and early morning/overnight shifts.
