Skilled Home-Performance Professionals Wanted

Innovative Air is Westchester's trusted residential team for heating, cooling, plumbing, insulation, indoor air quality, and home-comfort solutions. We are known for reliability, honesty, quality workmanship, and exceptional customer service.

As a Weatherization & Insulation Technician, you will help homeowners improve comfort, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and building performance. You will complete residential insulation and air-sealing projects safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, respects customers' homes, and works well as part of a professional installation team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, rigid foam, spray foam, and other approved insulation materials
  • Perform attic, wall, basement, crawl-space, rim-joist, and duct-insulation work
  • Complete air-sealing and weatherization improvements throughout residential properties
  • Remove old, damaged, contaminated, or ineffective insulation when required
  • Identify air leaks, moisture concerns, ventilation issues, and other conditions affecting home performance
  • Prepare work areas and protect customers' floors, furniture, landscaping, and belongings
  • Operate insulation equipment, hand tools, power tools, ladders, and jobsite machinery safely
  • Follow project scopes, installation specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable building codes
  • Take jobsite photographs and document completed work using company tablets or software
  • Explain completed improvements and basic care information clearly to homeowners
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites
  • Keep company vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition
  • Communicate job progress, material needs, and unexpected conditions to supervisors
  • Support other home-performance, HVAC, and indoor-air-quality projects when needed

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of insulation, weatherization, construction, carpentry, roofing, HVAC installation, or related hands-on experience preferred
  • Experience with residential attic, wall, basement, or crawl-space work is strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of insulation materials, air-sealing methods, moisture control, and basic building science
  • Ability to read and follow job scopes, measurements, diagrams, and installation instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work correctly
  • Professional, respectful, and careful when working inside occupied homes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
  • Comfortable using tablets, mobile applications, and job-documentation software
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record under company and insurer requirements
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a background check consistent with applicable law
  • BPI, OSHA, EPA, building-performance, lead-safe, or insulation-related certifications are preferred but not required
  • Willingness to complete company-provided training and obtain relevant certifications

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

  • Lift and carry insulation, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Climb and work safely from ladders
  • Work in attics, crawl spaces, basements, and other confined areas
  • Bend, kneel, reach, stand, and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Work in hot, cold, dusty, and seasonally uncomfortable environments
  • Wear respirators, protective clothing, and other required personal protective equipment
  • Safely operate tools and equipment used in insulation and weatherization work

Pay and Benefits

  • Full-time, W-2 employment
  • Pay: $25-$35 per hour, based on experience, certifications, technical ability, and leadership skills
  • Opportunities for overtime
  • Performance bonuses and incentives
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Retirement options
  • Paid training and certification opportunities
  • Company vehicle or transportation support, depending on role
  • Company-provided tools, equipment, safety gear, and fuel support, depending on role
