Join the dynamic and award-winning Long Beach Community College District Public Affairs and Marketing department! We're looking for a talented and creative individual to join our amazing team as a part-time Web and Media Coordinator. This is an exciting time to join Long Beach City College as we enhance and modernize our digital presence to better serve our students, employees and community. The part-time Web and Media Coordinator will have the opportunity to contribute to important web initiatives and help shape how our diverse audiences find, access and engage with LBCC's information online. As our new part-time Web and Media Coordinator, you will be assisting the college's day-to-day website management, electronic signage, social media presence and content across all digital communications platforms. We're looking for someone who: brings strong content management system (CMS) experience; understands effective and accessible web design; can think strategically about the user experience while helping us engage and grow LBCCs online audiences; and performs related duties as assigned.

Additionally, we are looking for someone who has a Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, information technology/web/social media, marketing or related field and two (2) years of web content and social media work experience, including the use of these tools in community outreach and engagement; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Duties

GENERAL PURPOSE

Implements electronic and social media strategies to increase visibility and understanding about the mission of Long Beach City College (LBCC) by a diverse audience base. The Coordinator oversees the Colleges day-to-day electronic and social media presence and content across all digital communications platforms to engage and grow LBCCs online users and followers; and performs related duties as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This position is responsible for the consistency, quality and clarity of electronic and social media content in alignment with the Long Beach City College brand. This position works closely with other members of the Communications team. Interaction with internal and external stakeholder groups is necessary to ensure the Colleges web and social media efforts are meeting the needs of our diverse audiences.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, information technology/web/social media, marketing or related field and two (2) years of web content and social media work experience, including the use of these tools in community outreach and engagement; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience is evaluated on the basis of a verifiable 35 hour week, unless specified otherwise. Prorated part-time experience may be acceptable.

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

May require a valid California drivers license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
