The Web Communications Specialist is responsible for managing web-based communications, digital content, website updates, and online engagement initiatives to support organizational goals and brand visibility. This role develops, edits, publishes, and maintains website content while ensuring consistent messaging, accessibility, usability, and digital communication standards.
The Web Communications Specialist collaborates with marketing, communications, design, content, and technical teams to optimize website experiences and support digital communication strategies in a fully remote environment.
This is a fully remote position; however, applicants must currently reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Web Content Management
Create, edit, publish, and maintain website content across digital properties
Update web pages, landing pages, news content, and campaign materials
Ensure website content accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment
Maintain editorial calendars and content publishing schedules
Digital Communications amp; Engagement
Support digital communication campaigns and web initiatives
Coordinate website announcements, newsletters, and communication updates
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop web messaging strategies
Assist with audience engagement and digital outreach efforts
Website Optimization amp; Analytics
Monitor website performance metrics and engagement data
Support SEO initiatives and content optimization activities
Conduct content audits and recommend improvements
Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and usability requirements
Collaboration amp; Governance
Work with design, marketing, and technical teams on web projects
Maintain content standards and publishing procedures
Support governance, approval workflows, and content reviews
Participate in website enhancement initiatives and digital projects
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Public Relations, or related field
3–5 years of experience in web communications, digital content, website management, or communications roles
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Experience managing website content and publishing workflows
Knowledge of digital communications principles and web content standards
Strong organizational and project coordination abilities
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal, or Sitecore
Experience using analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Looker Studio
Familiarity with SEO tools and accessibility standards
Experience with email marketing platforms and digital campaign management
Basic HTML, web publishing, or UX knowledge preferred
Compensation
Annual Salary Range: $70,000 – $98,000 USD, depending on experience, industry background, and technical expertise
Estimated Hourly Equivalent: $34 – $47 per hour
