--- Project Description ---
Contract Web Designer to help modernize, manage, and enhance our
EMS program's public-facing web presence. This role combines web
development, user experience (UX), accessibility compliance, and
graphic support. You'll work closely with program staff to ensure that
content is well-organized, accessible, and easy for users to navigate
and engage with.

--- Day-to-Day Tasks ---
1. Maintain and update the Bureau of EMS webpages on
https://www.health.ny.gov/professionals/ems/
2. Develop new pages and revise existing content using HTML, CSS,
JavaScript, Drupal and other tools
3. Streamline user access to forms, applications, regulatory documents,
and educational materials
4. Improve website layout and navigation, ensuring mobile
responsiveness and user accessibility
5. Create or update graphics and web elements to support visual clarity
and professional appearance
6. Ensure all web content meets accessibility requirements (WCAG,
Section 508)
7. Generate analytics reports using GA4, Google Tag Manager, and
Looker Studio
8. Create resource pages that provide links to other outside entities that
would assist EMS agencies and agency leadership.
9. Work with internal teams to review, approve, and publish website
updates.
10. Help to create a website that engages potential future EMS providers
to join the profession and find resources on where to obtain training and
become certified.

--- Required Qualifications ---
" 24 months Experience with HTML forms
" 24 months Experience with web accessibility: Accessible websites and
documents (PDF, Word, videos), ARIA Attributes, WebAIM guidelines, Section
508 guidelines.
" 24 months Experience with Adobe Photoshop, PaintShop Pro (or similar) for
graphics
" 24 months Experience with Adobe Acrobat for accessible PDF creation and
editing
" 24 months Experience with Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, and Looker
Studio for metrics and dashboards
" 36 months Experience with front-end development: content, layout, and
design, on Drupal and static HTML websites
" 24 months Experience with HTML5, Bootstrap, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery,
RegEx
" 24 months Experience with responsive web design and cross-browser
support
