my529 is hiring a Front-End Engineer to build and maintain responsive high-performance web applications using React JS. This role collaborates with a UX/UI designer, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance and Backend engineers.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Consistent delivery of quality features within a delivery teams agreed timeline for completion
  • An ongoing focus of representing front end concerns by providing feedback and insight to delivery team members during the lifecycle of a story/feature implementation.
  • Maintaining front end application health and security through vigilant reduction of technical debt while coding, running security scans before deployment. Participating in ongoing secure code training.
  • Balancing reliance on third party libraries with as much functionality as possible from vanilla/proprietary JavaScript.
  • Support fellow front end engineers by employing best practices in code reviews and technical meetings
  • Keeps user concerns forefront while balancing a reasonable engineering effort when considering proposed Requirement Acceptance Criteria and UX mock-ups

Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience creating and maintaining Single Page Applications (SPA) using React JS; A solid understanding of JSX, the React Component Lifecycle & State, the Virtual DOM, Context, Routing, Reusability, and Data Flow
  • Experience with Redux JS Action Creators, Reducers and the Redux Store
  • Experience with Material-UI's React component library and Material Design concepts
  • Experience creating and maintaining Responsive applications
  • Experience creating unit tests for React components and Redux Reducer classes
  • High degree of comfort & proficiency within Chrome Developer Tools
  • Working understanding of RESTful API's (JSON) and web services
  • Basic understanding of SQL relational databases
  • Experience working with a team using GIT Source Control, branching/merging/versioning
  • Experience with Agile project management
  • Exposure to secure coding practices
  • Experience maintaining your local work environment in Visual Studio Code on macOS

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Preferences

  • Three+ years of front-end web application development
  • Two+ years of React specific experience
