Formbuilder
Working Title: Form Builder, Form builder Apprentice, or Form builder Pre-Apprentice
Supervisor: Foreman
General Description of Position: Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, metal or composites.
Essential functions and responsibilities listed below:
Must be willing to travel if required
Must be able to use basic carpentry tools
Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to the type of material required and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated
Prepares layouts, marks cuttings and assembly lines on materials
Shapes materials to prescribed measurements
Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue, or form accessories
Constructs forms and chutes for placing concrete
May erect, climb and work on scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above the ground level at heights up to 100 feet or below ground level at depths down to 50 feet. Use body harness or other fall protection as required.
When not performing the above essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by the supervisor.
Specific Equipment and Materials to be used: Carpenter's hand tools, small/medium/large power tools, bench tools (saw, drill, grinder), concrete saw, chipper, sander, paving breaker, jackhammer
Safety Policies and Practices: The employee in this job must be knowledgeable about and follow the company's safety policies and procedures as described in the company's safety manual.
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred but not required
Experience and Training: Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work environment: The work environment/physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high and/ or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
