Weekend Bakery Lead/ Supervisor (Part-time & Per-diem)

Long Island Care Center is seeking an experienced, dependable, and creative Weekend Bakery Lead / Supervisor to provide hands-on bakery production and leadership during weekend shifts.

This position reports to the Head Baker and is responsible for maintaining established bakery standards and overseeing weekend operations when the Head Baker is not present.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake cakes, cookies, pastries, breads, desserts, and other bakery items
• Lead and supervise bakery staff during assigned weekend shifts
• Follow established recipes, production schedules, procedures, and direction from the Head Baker
• Maintain consistent quality, portioning, presentation, and timely production
• Work independently and manage daily bakery operations when needed
• Contribute creative ideas for seasonal, holiday, themed, and specialty bakery items
• Maintain proper food safety, sanitation, labeling, storage, and cleanliness standards
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply, production, equipment, or staffing concerns
• Provide friendly and professional service to residents, guests, coworkers, and staff
• Assist with additional weekday, holiday, vacation, or call-out coverage as needed

Qualifications:

• Professional baking/pastry experience required
• Lead, supervisory, or shift-lead experience preferred
• Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager and/or applicable Department of Health Food Protection/Sanitation Certification
• Strong baking, organizational, and time-management skills
• Creative and able to think outside the box while following established standards
• Dependable, punctual, professional, and personable
• Able to follow direction and work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and people skills
• Flexible availability for additional coverage when needed
