Weekend Cook

ABridge Care Cottage of Chilton is seeking part time cook/dietary aide for WEEKENDS (6:30am-2:30pm). This is an every weekend only position.

Reports To: Dietary Manager and Administrator

Summary: Responsible for the preparation, presentation, clean up, and storage of meals.  Responsible for following the prepared menu and assuring adequate supplies for the preparation of the meal.  Assuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen and pantry.  Maintain menus and orders as directed. 

Responsibilities:

3. Maintain Kitchen/Pantry 
4. Keep kitchen clean and free of clutter 
5. Assure no food or boxes are located on the floor 
6. Assure dirty laundry is in non-porous container and taken directly to laundry room (to be removed daily at end of shift) 
7. Log temperature of refrigerator and freezer daily 
8. Report broken equipment immediately  
9. Serve meals according to diet plans 
10. Set tables for meal times 
11. Clean up after meal times

5. Assure cleanliness of all appliances and kitchen gear 
6. Enforce proper use of kitchen equipment

6. Offer snacks and beverages at designated times

7. Ensure kitchen is kept clean and sanitized at all times

6. Report incidents or accidents of staff, residents or visitors to supervisor on duty / on call

9. Immediate reporting of any hazard which violates city or state code  

Qualifications:

5. Negative TB skin test 
6. Satisfactory criminal background check 
7. Ability to maintain acceptable work attendance record/follow work schedule 
8. Ability to organize and utilize time effectively 
9. Successfully complete state required training in allotted time frame 
10. Complete in-service training as required

5. Neat appearance; adherence to the dress code (clean shirt without advertising and long pants with closed shoe.  No sandals or sleeveless shirts) and good personal hygiene.  
6. Willingness to adhere to the assisted living principles of promoting independence, dignity, and choice. 

Additionally, the Dietary Aidewill be required to perform any reasonable duty delegated by the Dietary Manager within the scope of his/her practice, educational level and training that may not be noted on this job description.

24 hour, awake staff on duty.

Monthly weights and vital signs
Limited, prescribed therapeutic diets (pureed, mechanical soft, thickened liquids)
Glucose monitoring, insulin administration

Communication with physicians and other designated health care personnel
Memory Care and Dementia Related Behavioral interventions
Functional Maintenance Programs as developed by therapists
Ambulation and mobility programs
Monitoring of identified personal needs of bathing, dressing, hygiene

$15.00 - $19.00 per hour
