Weekend Machine Operator

Mancan is working with a company in Mt Vernon seeking machine operators on their weekend shift. Pay starts at $18.50/hour, then switches to piece rate pay once hired permanently. Hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5am-5:30pm. Training will take place during the week, Monday-Thursday 5am-3:30pm for the first 3-4 weeks. Openings are available in the plenums, register boot, and stackhead boot areas.

Plenums:
- Follow blueprints to make filter frames and plenum boxes
- Operate 4-5 manual machines, such as angle presses, alligator presses, and riveters
- Utilize precision measuring tools to conduct quality checks

Register Boot:
- Operate 5-6 semi-automatic and manual machines such as riveters, norloches, and co-latching machines to create register boots
- Utilize precision measuring tools to conduct quality checks

Stackhead Boot:
- Operate 5-6 semi-automatic and manual machines such as riveters, norloches, and co-latching machines to create stackhead/wall boots
- Utilize precision measuring tools to conduct quality checks

Qualifications:
- Must be mechanically inclined and have prior manufacturing experience.
- Experience with reading precision measuring tools
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively throughout the shift
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure
- Strong attention to detail
- High school diploma or GED
