Weekend Spa Receptionist (Part-Time) at The Pearl Hotel

Job Summary

The spa receptionist's responsibilities include greeting and welcoming spa guests, informing guests of spa packages, promotions, and rates, and customizing treatments and therapies to suit guests' needs. You should also be able to recommend additional spa services and up-sell spa products.

Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all company policy, standards, and state licensure requirements
• Maintain complete knowledge of and compliance with current laws governing Massage Therapy
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, techniques, and best practices
• Administer all services in a professional and ethical manner with regard to guest comfort
• Explain massages, treatments, and therapies to guests and provide recommendations
• Enquire about guests' medical conditions and allergies before providing services
• Communicate with guests during massages to adjust techniques as needed
• Communicating procedure and product usage to guests
• Perform different types of massages, beauty treatments, and wellness therapies
• Provide appropriate and consistent levels of guest service and hospitality
• Resolve guest complaints in a manner that promotes positive guest relations
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all treatments, services, and interactions
• Clean and sanitize work areas and treatment rooms before each service
• Change linens and sterilize instruments and equipment as required
• Ensure treatment rooms and supply areas are stocked and report shortages to the supervisor
• Work cooperatively and professionally with all departments
• Maintain knowledge of all spa and resort programs, services, and offerings
• Promote and execute retail sales
• All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job related needs
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English
• Working knowledge of common spa amenities (preferred)
• Have and maintain a current license in said field
• Minimum 1 year experience providing services in a luxury spa or resort environment

• Proficient in all components of Massage Therapy, e.g., anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, various modalities and contraindications

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods of standing, physical activity, stooping, and kneeling
• Bending, stooping, and reaching
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
• Frequent use of hands

Working Conditions

• Indoor environment, but may include occasional exposure to heat or humidity from different treatment and rooms
• Constant close interaction with guests
• Exposure to products, such as oils, lotions, creams, and cleaning chemicals (proper PPE provided)
