Weld Technician | Caledonia, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and robotic welding tasks according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and machinery.
  • Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues and equipment malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize welding processes.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Welding Technology or a related field
  • AWS Certified Welder (CW) certification
  • 3+ years of experience in various welding processes (MIG, TIG, STICK) in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, weld symbols, and engineering drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to perform quality inspections and troubleshoot welding equipment
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy and material properties related to welding
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with robotic welding systems (e.g., FANUC, Motoman).
  • CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification or a desire to obtain it.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) methods beyond visual inspection.
