Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative has a great opportunity for an experienced candidate as a Welder. The position’s main responsibilities include performing simple pipe layouts, maintaining cutting and welding and lead equipment, and pipe rigging and lifting.
Responsibilities
- Cut and fit all shapes of steel (pipe, structural, flat, angle) accurately
- Work safely; follow all safety procedures (including hot work permit, personal protective equipment (PPE) and confined space policies
- Read mechanical blue prints
Requirements
- Must pass the 6G bend weld test with stick electrode
- Must be able to wire weld
- Must pass the pipe fabrication test (read and follow print, cut and prep pipes to correct length; tack all pieces together with correct orientation)
- Lift and/or carry 75 pounds
- Work at heights (ladders and scaffolding); work inside and outside in all temperatures
- Must be able to communicate with a variety of audiences and skill sets to identify and resolve problems.
