Performs a wide range of routine to complex manual, automatic, and/or semi-automatic welds utilizing a variety of equipment on high temperature and high strength metal alloys.
Following established procedures, responsibilities may include some or all of the following: Perform manual/automatic welding, tacking, and weld repairing at 1G (flat) on plates or pipes, ensuring proper penetration and fusion; heat straightening at flat or horizontal position. Read technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to understand specifications. Select, set up, and maintain welding equipment (e.g., manual TIG, JetLine, AMI, Robot, EBW, Laser Welding) Clean, cut, bend, and clamp or tack-weld components into position. Monitor weld quality during and after welding to ensure compliance with code requirements, using visual inspection to check for defects. Help with troubleshooting if needed. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Repair existing equipment and perform minor repairs on welding machinery. May perform other related responsibilities.
High school diploma or equivalent. Must demonstrate knowledge in TIG welding by successfully passing AWS D17.1 1G weld test: o 0.063" SS321, butt joint at 1G position o 0.063" Hast-X, butt joint at 1G position o Welds must pass visual inspection, FPI, and X-Ray testing o Must pass the weld defects visual inspection test Experience with semi-automatic/orbital welders preferred Must demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and be willing to work effectively as a participative team member in a dynamic team-oriented environment. Ability to read, write, and understand instructions, procedures, drawings, and blueprints. Must possess a high level of manual dexterity, sound and reliable judgment, and a willingness to learn. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to accurately perform moderately complex mathematical calculations. Ability to learn/perform basic computer operations. May be required to lift up to 35 lbs.
