This role involves manual welding to repair castings using GTAW, following industry and customer standards. The welder performs setup, preheat, grinding, blending, and visual inspections to ensure close tolerances. They work from WPS, drawings, and specifications, utilizing measuring tools and maintaining proper weld rod and equipment calibration. The position includes assisting with technique development and maintaining Nadcap compliance.
Requirements include 2-4 years of related experience, passing a 1G Vee-Groove weld qualification in 300 series stainless steel, and maintaining certifications per ASME Sec.IX, MIL-STD-1595A, and other standards. Candidates must pass vision exams, weld workmanship training, and understand work instructions.
