Under limited supervision and minimal technical guidance, positions material to be welded and applies hand-eye coordination to achieve the desired weld. Materials welded may include steel, stainless, aluminum, or other alloys, and the methods may include gas welding, shielded metal arc, gas-tungsten arc, gas-metal arc or submerged arc. All-position welding may be required. The variety of applications requires an ability to plan, layout and perform diversified work, which may be characterized as short run production or job shop (custom work). Includes high pressure and code welding or other work involving critical safety and load requirements or welding where appearance is critical. Regulates heat and feed and may select electrodes, tips and rods. Works from more complex specifications, drawings, prints and welding symbols. May provide technical direction to others.
Education & Training
Highschool or equivalent
Preferred: Certificate of completion from Certified Welding Program
Knowledge & Experience
High- level understanding of GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) Standards
>3 year of experience in welding (work or trade school)
Skills & Abilities
Ability to pass High- Level Welding Test/Certification
History of working in Cell Based Manufacturing environment
Ability to train others
Problem solving ability

Weld complex components in Flat, Vertical and Overhead positions
Interpret & Use engineering drawings, blueprints and sketches to Plan, Layout and Facilitate the Welding of components.

Hours/Shifts
1st shift- 6 AM-4:30 PM
30 min lunch and 2 paid 15 min. breaks
Overtime
With managers approval
Salary: $25 - $28 per hour
Vacation
Up to 3 yrs- accrue up to 2 weeks a year
3-6 yrs- accrue up to 3 weeks a year
6 years +- accrue up to 4 weeks a year.
