Job Description


This role involves extensive field work to service, install, and repair sanitary piping systems using TIG and MIG welding techniques. You will travel frequently to customer sites, perform high-quality welding and fabrication, and ensure all work areas remain clean and safe. The position requires regular use of grinders and polishers, as well as the physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds on job sites.


Responsibilities


+ Travel 50–75% of the time to various job sites to service, install, and repair sanitary piping systems.

+ Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding on sanitary piping and related components.

+ Use grinders, polishers, and other fabrication tools to prepare, finish, and refine welds and fabricated parts.

+ Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate layout, fitting, and assembly of piping and fabricated structures.

+ Fit and assemble piping and fabricated components according to specifications and project requirements.

+ Carry out fabrication tasks, including cutting, fitting, and assembling metal components for sanitary piping systems.

+ Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds as part of daily work activities.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at both field locations and in the shop.

+ Follow all safety procedures and use proper rigging practices when lifting or moving materials.

+ Perform minor shop work when not in the field, supporting preparation and fabrication tasks for upcoming projects.

+ Work effectively in outdoor environments and adapt to changing weather and site conditions.


Essential Skills


+ Proficiency in TIG welding, particularly for sanitary piping systems.

+ Proficiency in MIG welding for a variety of fabrication and repair tasks.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints for piping and fabricated assemblies.

+ Hands-on fitting experience for piping and metal components.

+ Fabrication experience, including cutting, fitting, and assembling metal structures.

+ Experience using grinders, polishers, and related metalworking tools.

+ Ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly on job sites.

+ Rigging experience for safely handling and moving materials and equipment.

+ Willingness and ability to travel 50–75% of the time for field service work.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Previous experience in a service or field-based welding and fabrication role.

+ Experience working on sanitary piping systems or similar process piping.

+ Comfort working both independently and as part of a team in field environments.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and fabrications.

Work Environment


This is a service and field-based position primarily on first shift. You will travel 50–75% of the week, working outdoors at customer sites and frequently encountering varying weather and environmental conditions. You will regularly use welding equipment, grinders, and polishers in both field and shop settings and should be prepared to work safely in outdoor elements.
