Welder Assembler
Location: 250 Dixon Drive, Chestertown, MD 21620
Work Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Pay Range: $17.00 - $18.00/Hour

The Dixon Group is looking for a Welder Assembler to join our team! In this role, you will be hands-on in assembling and testing critical components, ranging from air tank manifolds and test pumps to swivel joints and loading arms. You will also prepare parts for our welding team through sandblasting and pipe polishing. All assemblies are built to precise engineering specifications and rigorously tested prior to packaging and shipping.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform surface preparation on parts prior to welding through sanding, sandblasting and pipe polishing.
  • Accurately assemble and test a variety of equipment, including Test Pumps, Air Tank Manifolds, Swivel Joints, and Loading Arms.
  • Read and follow detailed shop orders, engineering specifications, and production prints to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Construct wooden crates for the safe packaging and shipping of completed parts.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist in other production areas or on special projects as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (No advanced degrees or certifications required).
  • Previous experience in production assembly or a mechanical field is highly beneficial, though not strictly required. We are willing to train candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and accurately follow production prints and shop orders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a team-player mentality.
  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment and capable of performing the physical requirements of heavy assembly.

Note: Steel-toe shoes are required for this position.
