Welder Position
The welder will play a critical role in the fabrication and assembly of Modula's automated storage and material-handling systems. This position requires advanced welding skills, a deep understanding of metals used in manufacturing, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. The welder will also ensure adherence to safety standards and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in the production process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform welding (MIG, TIG, stick) on steel and other metals used in Modula's automated systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications to ensure precision and compliance.
- Fabricate, assemble, and repair components of vertical lift modules (VLMs) and other automation equipment.
- Conduct inspections to ensure welds meet quality and safety standards, including dimensional accuracy and structural integrity.
- Troubleshoot and correct welding defects or irregularities.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workstations to ensure peak performance and compliance with safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to meet project timelines and quality objectives.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives and process improvements within the production department.
Requirements include:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in Welding Technology preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or automation environment, preferably in heavy machinery or material handling systems.
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and stick welding, with experience working on structural and precision components.
- Knowledge of metallurgy, fabrication techniques, and welding codes (AWS or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and welding symbols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide junior welders.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA and company standards.
