Automation Services is seeking a skilled Welder to support the repair, restoration, and fabrication of industrial control valve components and sealed instrumentation systems. This position requires experience with MIG and TIG welding, metal finishing, and precision fabrication to restore critical components to OEM specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, takes pride in quality workmanship, and enjoys working in a hands-on industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform MIG and TIG weld buildup to repair worn, damaged, or washed-out control valve components, including balls, plugs, discs, shafts, bonnets, and related parts.
Grind, sand, machine, and polish repaired components to restore OEM dimensions and surface finishes.
Operate MIG bore welding equipment to repair valve bonnets and other components.
Weld diaphragms for sealed pressure transmitter systems using an automated welding lathe.
Fabricate sealed instrumentation systems according to work orders and engineering specifications.
Perform vacuum leak testing to verify the integrity of fabricated sealed systems.
Manufacture and maintain inventory of standard fabricated components such as seals, brackets, capsules, and other production parts.
Fabricate shop fixtures, carts, tooling, and miscellaneous support equipment as needed.
Safely operate MIG and TIG welders, drill presses, grinders, oxy-acetylene equipment, and other fabrication tools.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of welding consumables, grinding materials, and related shop supplies.
Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of MIG and TIG welding experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or fabrication environment.
Ability to successfully pass a 2G welding certification.
Experience repairing or fabricating precision metal components is preferred.
Experience with industrial valves, instrumentation, or rotating equipment is a plus.
Required Skills
Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
Experience welding a variety of metals, including: Mild Steel, 316 Stainless Steel, Hastelloy, Stellite Alloy 6
Ability to read work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to safely operate fabrication equipment and hand tools.
Excellent organizational skills and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods (6–8 hours per shift).
Ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
Ability to safely perform repetitive welding, grinding, lifting, and material handling tasks.
Must be able to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE.
