Build Custom Metal Components as a Welder/Fabricator | $22–$24/Hour

Put your fabrication skills to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment where you will build structural frameworks, sheet-metal components, and equipment enclosures. LINK Staffing is hiring experienced Welder/Fabricators in the Houston area. This position is ideal for a well-rounded fabricator who can perform MIG welding when needed.

This is primarily a fabrication position. Welding accounts for approximately 10–20% of the work.

Job Highlights

• Pay: $22.00–$24.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–3:30 PM; Friday, 6:00 AM–12:00 PM
• Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
• Overtime may be required based on business needs
• Location: Houston, TX
• Two positions available
• Hands-on fabrication work with limited production welding

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings
• Measure, mark, cut, trim, and shape steel, aluminum, and sheet metal
• Operate saws, shears, brakes, presses, grinders, welding machines, and CNC equipment
• Fit and assemble fabricated components using mechanical fasteners and MIG welding
• Inspect completed components with measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on fabrication equipment

Requirements

• Previous fabrication or sheet-metal experience strongly preferred
• Basic MIG welding and fitting experience
• Ability to read basic blueprints and accurately measure materials
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery
• Ability to troubleshoot fitment and alignment issues
• Ability to stand, bend, and squat for extended periods
• Ability to lift materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
• Welding certification or trade-school training preferred but not required
• Electrical experience is not required

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and fabrication shop with moving equipment and heavy machinery
• Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and regulated chemicals
• Jeans and long sleeves are required or expected
• Required PPE and all established safety procedures must be followed
