IROCK Crushers LLCJob DescriptionJob Title: WELDER/FABRICATORDepartment: OPERATIONSReports To: FABRICATION & WELDING SUPERINTENDENTSUMMARYThis position is responsible for safely performing a variety of welding and fabrication tasks to manufacturestructural components and assemblies used in IROCK crushing and screening equipment. All tasks andresponsibilities are to be performed in accordance with engineering drawings, welding procedures, workinstructions, quality standards, and production schedules under the direct supervision of the Fabrication &Welding Superintendent and Operations Management.The position requires working knowledge of welding processes, fabrication equipment, forklifts, hoists,slings, hand and power tools, measuring devices, blueprint reading, and structural fabrication techniques.The candidate must maintain a strong work ethic and contribute to a work environment built on teamwork,continuous improvement, safety, communication, customer service/satisfaction, and organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOther duties and projects may be assigned.• Perform welding duties utilizing Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Flux Core Arc Welding(FCAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and other approved welding processes as required.• Assemble, fit, tack weld, and weld structural steel frames, components, and assemblies according toengineering drawings, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, work orders, layouts, and oral instructions.• Prepare work to be accomplished by studying fabrication drawings, work instructions, bills of material,and production schedules.• Layout, fabricate, repair, modify, and fit structural steel components utilizing jigs, fixtures, templates,and measuring devices.• Operate or use various hand, power, pneumatic, and fabrication tools including grinders, drills, saws,cutting torches, punches, hammers, and tape measures.• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, slings, and rigging equipment safely and effectively.• Position and secure components using clamps, straightedges, combination squares, levels, calipers,and measuring devices to ensure proper fit-up and dimensional accuracy.• Perform welds ranging from simple tack welds to complex structural weldments in various positionswhile maintaining required quality standards.• Remove weld spatter, rough edges, and imperfections utilizing portable grinders and other finishingequipment.• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and weld quality to ensure compliance with engineering specificationsand IROCK quality standards.• Read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, workinstructions, and job order specifications.• Complete work assignments to satisfy safety, quality, productivity, and schedule requirements.• Adhere to the Shop Floor (SF) process and notify the Fabrication & Welding Superintendent offabrication, welding, quality, safety, or production issues.• Document actions by completing production, quality, inspection, and drawing mark-up forms.15531 Canal Road Tel: (440) 735-4970Valley View, OH 44125 Fax: (440) 735-4974sales@irockcrushers.com irockcrushers.com• Maintain welding equipment, fabrication tools, lifting devices, and workstations in safe operatingcondition by following inspection, maintenance, and reporting procedures.• Utilize Company property with care and respect, maintain it in good working condition, and retain it onCompany premises.• Conserve Company resources by utilizing time, equipment, materials, and consumables efficiently.• Participate in production process improvements, kaizen activities, continuous improvement initiatives,training programs, teams, and focus groups.• Maintain and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment inaccordance with OSHA regulations and Company requirements.• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.• Interact with fellow employees, customers, vendors, and management in a cooperative, supportive,and professional manner while upholding IROCK's Core Values.• Perform or assist in other assigned duties as qualified and trained.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essentialfunctionsEducation and/or Experience:• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.• Knowledge of commonly-used mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures required.• Relevant trade school or college course work desired.• Ability to correctly use and read a tape measure, and read/understand job-related blueprints,required.• Heavy equipment manufacturing experience desired.• Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse, and locate and open/closefiles.General Skills• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, physical, and background check,and random drug and/or alcohol screenings throughout employment.• Must be dependable, dedicated to completing work assignments correctly, and use time wisely.• Adept at problem-solving.
