You will train on 1st shift for 1–2 months before transitioning to 2nd shift, where you will receive a shift premium. This role is ideal for a welder who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in precision work, and can consistently deliver high-quality results using MIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.

Responsibilities

  • Weld and fabricate steel staircases, railings, and other structural and miscellaneous components for building projects on 2nd shift.

  • Perform primarily MIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel to produce strong, clean, and accurate welds.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to understand job requirements and ensure components are built to specification.

  • Lay out materials accurately based on blueprints and project requirements to prepare for cutting, fitting, and welding.

  • Use a variety of shop equipment, including grinders, drills, taps, brakes, shears, and related tools, to cut, shape, and finish metal components.

  • Set up and work with fixtures for structural steel fabrication to maintain alignment, accuracy, and repeatability.

  • Support the miscellaneous steel department by completing assigned fabrication and welding tasks on schedule.

  • Maintain a fast work pace and stay on task to help the team meet production goals and shipping deadlines.

  • Collaborate closely with team members in a direct, accountable environment, openly addressing quality, safety, and productivity expectations.

  • Follow all safety procedures when operating welding equipment and shop machinery, keeping the work area clean and organized.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient MIG welding skills with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds on various metals.

  • Hands-on fabrication experience, including cutting, fitting, and assembling structural and miscellaneous steel components.

  • Strong blueprint reading skills, with the ability to interpret drawings and translate them into accurate fabrication work.

  • Experience performing accurate layouts based on blueprints and project specifications.

  • Ability to use common shop equipment such as grinders, drills, taps, brakes, shears, and related metalworking tools.

  • Comfort working with structural steel and fixtures in a fabrication environment.

  • Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining focus on quality and safety.

  • Reliable work ethic with a work-first attitude and willingness to support team goals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience welding aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel.

  • TIG welding experience on various metals.

  • Welding certificates or formal welding schooling, such as completion of a welding program at a community college or technical school.

  • Experience in flux core welding.

  • Background in structural steel fabrication or miscellaneous steel work.

  • Comfort working in a direct, accountability-driven team culture.
