The job can be flexible as either part time or full time depending on the skills and needs of the applicant and sawmill.
Duties:
- Repair sawmill operations as needed
- Fabricate shields for motors and pinch points
- Modify existing equipment to new customer requirements
- Install replacement equipment as necessary
Experience:
- Proven work in manufacturing environments preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency stick welding, gas cutting, plasma cutting, and welding techniques.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and rigging operations.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes including machining and assembly.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- This role is essential for producing high-quality metal components that meet strict safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented with strong technical skills and a commitment to safety excellence.
