Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Welder/Fabricator for our client. Responsibilities read and interpret blueprints to lay out, measure, cut, and assemble steel components to spec. You’ll work with tools like torches, grinders, magnetic drills, and welders, performing high-quality flux-cored wire welding and ensuring all fabricated parts meet project standards. Maintaining a clean, safe work area and working independently with strong attention to detail are key.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
· Read and interpret blueprints to lay out and fabricate structural steel components.
· Use a variety of tools such as torches, grinders, magnetic drills, and welders to complete tasks.
· Accurately measure, cut, shape, and assemble steel components according to specifications.
· Perform flux-cored wire welding to join steel parts, ensuring the highest quality of work.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following safety protocols at all times.
· Ensure all fabricated parts meet quality standards and project specifications.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
· Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, including the ability to layout and fabricate steel (not just weld symbols).
· Proven experience in structural steel fabrication and welding.
· Proficiency with tools such as torches, grinders, magnetic drills, and welders.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to project needs.
· Previous experience with flux-cored wire welding.
· Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
· Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
· Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
· Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
· Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
· Communication skills.
