Welding & Assembly: Layout, position, align, and secure metal parts and assemblies according to technical specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
Precision Operations: Perform tack-welds and complete welds using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment in flat, vertical, or overhead positions on materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and alloys.
Material Cutting & Prep: Cut workpieces using CNC machinery, powered saws, hand shears, and torch/burning tools. Mark bending and cutting lines while accounting for stock thickness, machine tolerance, and welding shrinkage.
Inspection & Quality Control: Measure, inspect, and verify grooves, angles, and gap allowances using micrometers, calipers, straightedges, combination squares, and precision measuring instruments to ensure work falls within precise limits.
Machine & Shop Maintenance: Perform minor routine machine maintenance (e.g., oiling machines, dies, or workpieces). Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards; properly care for and store all tools and equipment daily.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all shop safety protocols, wear required PPE and promptly report any safety or incident issues.
Requirements & Physical Demands
Experience: Solid, hands-on professional welding and fabrication experience with a consistent, reliable work history.
Technical & Math Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and measuring tapes. Strong basic math skills
Tool & Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrated skill in setting up and operating hand tools, power tools, and standard fabrication shop equipment.
