Job Title: Welder and Fabricator

Job Description

This role focuses on welding and fabricating steel parts for large industrial machines. You will interpret blueprints, cut and fit components, and perform high-quality welds using FCAW and GMAW processes to produce precise and durable assemblies.

SHIFT : 5a-3:30p, Mon-Thurs

Responsibilities

  • Weld and fabricate steel parts and assemblies for large industrial machinery.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to plan and execute work accurately.

  • Cut, prepare, and fit steel components according to specifications and production requirements.

  • Perform wire feed welding (MIG) using FCAW and GMAW processes in all positions, including 4G.

  • Execute fillet welds and other required weld types to meet quality and safety standards.

  • Work from drawings and blueprints to lay out, assemble, and fabricate structures and machine components.

  • Lift and handle materials and parts weighing between 50 and 75 pounds as part of daily tasks.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area within a large production shop environment.

  • Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while operating welding and fabrication equipment.

  • Collaborate with production team members to meet order deadlines and maintain efficient workflow.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a welder and fabricator working with steel components.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols accurately.

  • Proficiency in 4G wire feed welding and performing wire feed welding in all positions.

  • Hands-on experience with MIG (wire feed) welding, including FCAW and GMAW processes.

  • Strong fabrication skills, including cutting, fitting, and assembling steel parts.

  • Capability to perform high-quality fillet welds that meet production and safety standards.

  • Ability to work 10-hour shifts on a consistent basis.

  • Physical ability to lift and move 50–75 pounds safely during regular work activities.

  • Comfort working from detailed drawings and blueprints in a production environment.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality welds and fabrications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a large industrial or manufacturing shop environment.

  • Background as a fitter with strong skills in aligning and positioning steel components.

  • Familiarity with a variety of fabrication tools and equipment used in steel manufacturing.

  • Strong understanding of shop safety practices and safe operation of welding equipment.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a production team with multiple skilled tradespeople.

Work Environment

You will work in a large shop environment with more than 60 production workers, surrounded by industrial welding and fabrication equipment. The setting is fast-paced and production-oriented, with extended 10-hour shifts that require sustained focus and safe material handling. The facility is designed for heavy steel fabrication, with ample space for large assemblies and collaboration among welders, fabricators, and other trades.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
