    JOB PURPOSE & REPORTING STRUCTURE

    Under the supervision of the lead Supervisor/Manager, the employee uses the press breaks to Shear/Form material. Operates Plasma Cutter and Track Torch to cut, shape and form material. They weld product components, subassemblies, or units in accordance with the Company quality standards.   


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  

    • Proficient at some of the below listed qualifications. 
    • Operate welder to weld components. Visual inspects final product for conformance to established quality standards and blueprint specifications.
    • Utilize, Read and Comprehend Blueprints and Layouts. 
    • Cut, Shear and Form Material.
    • Operate a Plasma Cutter and Track Torch. 
    • Understand and conform to establish manufacturing processes.
    • Complete required welding and inventory documentation. Report inventory discrepancies. 
    • Perform related material handling duties. Operate forklift and crane to transport materials.
    • Operate required hands tools, torch, and plasma cutter.
    • Participate in the Company’s team process to develop and improve manufacturing processes and procedures. Continually strive to find better ways to complete tasks and be the best in the industry.
    • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion and conform to all quality and safety procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned. 


    QUALIFICATION JOB FUNCTIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. A vocational diploma in welding or a minimum of three years production welding experience is preferred. Experience in gas metal arc welding and flux cored arc welding preferred. The position requires three to six months' on-the-job experience to become familiar with departmental/company policies and procedures.


    Language Skills- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, blueprints, welding symbols, geometric tolerancing and dimensioning, welding documentation and short correspondence. Ability to communicate with other employees to gather and share information and solve problems.


    Mathematical Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


    Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and assumes responsibility for the result of the decision.


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations- Ability to obtain a forklift operator’s certificate. CDL operating licensee and must have a welding certification.


    Skills/Abilities- Ability to operate various equipment including welder, torch/plasma cutter, assorted hand tools, impact, squares, forklift, and crane/hoist. Requires a basic knowledge of company products and proper welding procedures.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach above shoulders, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; talk or hear; and use foot/feet OT operate machines.


    The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or more up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and near moving mechanical parts.


    The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Hearing protection is required while working in the welding department.


    The employee is required to wear safety glasses with side shields and a welding helmet while working in the welding department. Steel Toed work boots/shoes, sleeves, gloves, apron, chest protector are also required, according to the procedure or operation.

    Glass Bead Blasting

    Masking projects for Paint

    Hyatsu Forklift Operations and Capacities.   

    Efficient at Mig Welding Mild Steel

    Drilling- Speeds and pilot hole diameter

    Tapping- Hole Diameter for tap size

    Spray Can Prime & Paint

    Hem Saw- Blade changes and operating skills

    Ellis Saws- Change blades and operating

    Stick Welding- 7018

    Flux Core- .045

    Flux Core-.030 120-volt machine

    Welder Operations- Setting up welder, proper wire, gas, wire speeds and voltage

    Plasma cutting- Changing consumables and operating

    Track Torch- Set up and operation

    Radial arm drill-Set up and operate

    Shear-Functions and capabilities

    Genie & Tractor Forklift- Functional Operations and Capacities. 

    Iron Worker-punch/shear/notcher operations and capabilities

    Plate Roller-Functions and capabilities

    Calipers

    Basic working knowledge of TIG Welding with Aluminum/Mild Steel/Stainless: Drawings-Hand sketches

    Forklifts- Operation and capacities, checking fluids, backing in wagons

    Engine driven welders-Operation and fluid checks 

    Proficient at Mig Welding- Mild steel/Stainless/Aluminum

    Brazing

    Proficient at Tig Welding-Aluminum/Mild Steel/Stainless

    Form/press brake-functions and capabilities

    Milling machine-functions and capabilities

    Lathe-functions and capabilities

    Prints-Reading prints and identifying weld symbols

    Layout 

    Jig making

    Yard dogs-Operation and capacities, checking fluids

    Caterpillar Forklift-Operation and capacities, checking Fluids

    Service truck-Checking fluids and operation of all functions

    Wiring- Lights on trailers and trucks

    Pneumatics

    Finish Painting
