Welder/Fabrictor

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a qualified Welder/Fabricator for a long-term, day shift role in NW Portland, OR. The person in this position will support a job shop specializing in large and intricate industrial machines weighing up to 100,000 lbs.

Pay: $28-$38/hour

Welder/Fabricator Responsibilities:

• Ensure all safety procedures are followed, and the proper PPE is in place

• Weld with Hardwire MIG, Fluxcore, TIG, and/or Stick as each project requires

• Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and procedures

• Use grinders, torches, saws and other fabrication tools to prepare parts for fit-up

• Tack weld assemblies and measure to ensure dimensional accuracy

• Final weld parts in all postures and positions

• Perform First Article Inspections.

• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with fit up as they occur

Welder/Fabricator Qualifications:

• Must have knowledge in rigging and crane safety

• Minimum of 5 years' experience with MIG, TIG, and Oxy-Fuel torch

• Nickel alloy welding experience requried and copper experience is a plus

• Must have strong attention to detail

• Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints

• Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential

• Must have a positive and professional attitude

• Available to work weekends and overtime when needed

• Capable of standing for extended periods of time

• Non-ferrous welding experience is a plus
