Welder

One of our automotive clients is looking for a Certified Welder close to Grand Rapids, MI.

**Pay **- $24 - $27/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications.

• Lay out, measure, cut, fit, and weld metal components.

• Perform MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.

• Fabricate and assemble structural steel, machine components, tanks, and metal parts.

• Set up and operate fabrication equipment such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.

• Inspect welds and finished work for quality and conformance to specifications.

• Repair or fabricate replacement components to minimize equipment downtime.

• Use measuring tools such as squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.

• Complete basic repair documentation and electronic work orders.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.

• Ability to read blueprints and understand welding symbols.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.

• Ability to use welding, fabrication, and hand tools.

• Knowledge of workplace safety practices.

• Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.

• Basic computer skills and experience with CMMS is an asset.

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

• Willingness to work weekends as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a hot manufacturing environment.

• Ability to lift varying weights.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 12 hours.

• Ability to wear required PPE.
