Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent; must pass welding procedures test.
Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; strong mig welding and fabrication skills; ability to read blueprints; proficient mechanical skills, proficient PC skills, including Internet; and visual and auditory skills.
Working Conditions: Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less; excessive noise environment; operate heavy machinery, power tools, or equipment; and work at elevated heights or in confined spaces.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' experience in related positions normally required.
General Responsibilities
The Welder is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the machine/repair function; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.
This position is classified as safety sensitive. Successful candidates must comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including the company’s drug- and alcohol-free workplace requirements. Individuals in this role are subject to pre-employment, random, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing, consistent with applicable law and company policy. Violations of these policies may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
