Trillium Staffing is now seeking welders/fitters in Houston, TX!
Day & night shifts are available!
Schedules:
- Days: Monday-Friday with a 6am start time, currently working 10 hour days, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday OT. Pay rate is $25-$30/hr, depending on experience.
- Nights: Monday-Friday with a 4:30pm start time, currently working 10.5 hour days, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday OT. Pay rate is $27-$32/hr, depending on experience.
Candidates will be welding/fitting on large parts in an industrial setting that builds large custom machinery. Must have experience with full penetration plate splicing (3/8 inch to 1-1/4 inch).
Key responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Measure, cut, and align metal components to prepare them for welding.
- Fit and assemble structural steel, pipe, or metal components according to specifications.
- Perform flux core welding on carbon steel.
- Experienced in 3G, SubArc, & 4G (overhead) welding.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and structural standards.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, torches, and cutting tools.
- Operate cranes and forklifts.
Fitter:
- 3+ years of structural fit-up experience (heavy fabrication preferred; oilfield/heavy fab backgrounds ideal—not pipe-focused)
- Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills with ability to measure accurately
- Ability to tack weld during the fit-up process
- Experience working with tight tolerances on structural assemblies
- Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with welders and supervisors
- Must have HS diploma or GED
- Must pass preemployment screening
Welder:
- 4–5 years of welding experience (FCAW primary; MIG/SAW secondary)
- Ability to pass AWS/CWB weld tests, including 3G & 4G
- Strong understanding of weld procedures, distortion control, and inspections
- Experience working with heavy steel structures and overhead cranes
- Must have HS diploma or GED
- Must pass preemployment screening
