Position Summary

Laser Photonics Corporation is seeking a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team. The Welder will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components used in the production of advanced industrial laser systems and related equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong welding and fabrication skills, the ability to read technical drawings, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures, frames, enclosures, and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Measure, cut, fit, and align materials to precise tolerances.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, strength, and compliance with specifications.
• Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, drill presses, and other shop tools.
• Assist with assembly and installation of mechanical components related to laser equipment manufacturing.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable welding standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve fabrication issues and improve manufacturing processes.
• Support prototype development and custom fabrication projects as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational training, welding certification, or trade school education preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of welding and metal fabrication experience.
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding; aluminum welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Forklift certification is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in industrial equipment, machinery, aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication and mechanical assembly.
• Knowledge of quality control and inspection procedures.
• Experience working with custom-built equipment or capital equipment manufacturing.
