Job Summary<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>

The Welder <\/span>is responsible for <\/span>producing high-quality welds on structural steel components and assemblies used in pre-engineered metal building (PEMB), structural steel, and mission-critical infrastructure projects. This position performs welding and fabrication activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment <\/span>utilizing <\/span>advanced equipment, robotics, and automated production systems.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Welder works closely with fitters, operators, quality personnel, supervisors, and engineering teams to ensure structural steel components meet AWS standards, project specifications, quality requirements, and production schedules. This role plays a critical part in supporting safe operations, minimizing rework, and maintaining <\/span><\/span>Allied's<\/span> <\/span>commitment to manufacturing excellence.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Responsibilities:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>

<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div>

• Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on structural steel assemblies, beams, columns, frames, connections, and fabricated components.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Perform FCAW, SMAW, or other welding processes as required by project specifications and production requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Weld components <\/span>in accordance with <\/span>AWS standards, welding procedures, engineering drawings, and quality requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, work instructions, and production travelers to ensure proper assembly and weld placement.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Verify fit-up, alignment, weld size, and <\/span>component <\/span>orientation prior to welding.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>

• Assist <\/span>with fabrication activities including grinding, fitting, gouging, material preparation, and weld cleanup.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Operate safely around robotic welding cells, automated production equipment, conveyors, and material handling systems.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

• Perform visual inspection of completed welds to verify quality, appearance, penetration, and compliance with specifications.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>

• Identify and communicate quality concerns, weld defects, or fabrication discrepancies requiring corrective action.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

• Maintain productivity levels while meeting quality standards and production schedules.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>Qualifications:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span>

<\/p><\/div>Experience:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span>

<\/p><\/li><\/ul>Minimum 3 years of welding experience in structural steel fabrication, heavy manufacturing, industrial construction, or related environments.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Experience welding structural steel components used in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Experience working in production-driven manufacturing environments <\/span>is preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Experience working alongside automated or robotic welding systems is a plus.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li><\/ul>Education:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span>

<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>High school diploma or GED <\/span>required.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Ability to pass Allied <\/span><\/span>welding<\/span> <\/span>qualification tests <\/span>required.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/blockquote>Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Completion of a welding program that includes blueprint reading and safety training is desirable.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
