Schedule : Mon – Fri | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM ( OT & weekend may be required based on operational needs.)
Pay Range : $22.00 – $24.00 per hour,
Position Summary
The Welder is responsible for performing a variety of welding and grinding operations to repair and fabricate components in accordance with OEM specifications. This role involves working on custom-made parts using various welding processes and materials while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
•
Set up and operate welding machines and related power and hand tools.
•
Perform welding using GTAW and SMAW as primary processes; GMAW and SAW are a plus.
•
Weld and repair custom-manufactured components using Inconel, stainless steel, and carbon steel filler materials.
•
Monitor welding, burning, and fitting processes to prevent overheating, warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
•
Work closely with machinists and engineers to ensure welding is performed correctly and to specification.
•
Perform daily preventive maintenance on welding tools and equipment as required.
•
Maintain overall quality of welded work, including dimensional control, and take corrective action when necessary.
•
Operate cranes, electric stackers, and other mechanical assists to move, position, and unload heavy parts and assemblies.
•
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets requirements prior to moving it to the next operation.
•
Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and timely.
•
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
•
Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
•
Assist with training other team members on welding tasks as needed.
Experience & Qualifications
•
Minimum 1–3 years of welding experience using SMAW and GTAW in a manufacturing or industrial environment, or successful completion of an apprenticeship program or prior welding certification.
•
Experience with a variety of welding equipment and procedures:
o
SMAW and GTAW used daily
o
GMAW and SAW used occasionally (training provided if needed)
•
Ability to set up welding machines according to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
•
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and written instructions.
•
Working knowledge of hand tools including grinders, drills, angle finders, squares, and tape measures.
•
Basic mathematical skills as they relate to welding and fabrication.
•
Ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometers and dial calipers.
•
Knowledge of safety standards and consistent use of required PPE (safety glasses, face shields, gloves, protective clothing).
•
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Certifications
•
Crane and forklift certification preferred (or ability to become certified).
Physical & Work Requirements
•
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
•
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
•
Visual and informational inspections of welded surfaces to identify defects.
•
Weld test required based on experience (e.g., 1G plate or 6G pipe).
