Job Description

Pro Resources is seeking a Welder/Pipefitter for a client in Fort Wayne, IN. This person will be a dedicated team player, responsible for the layout, position, alignment, fit, and welds of parts; as well as, the assembly and fabrication of quality engineered systems for the liquid handling industry and other products in accordance with specifications by performing the following duties. Successful candidates will be motivated, self-directed/ self-starters, mechanically inclined, and well organized. A successful person is detail-oriented and dependable, can follow instructions and consistently produce good work. 

Shift and Compensation 
  • 1st Shift 6-2:30 PM
  • Compensation is from 52,000 USD to 62,400 USD per year
Job Duties
  • Reads and interprets Bills of Material and Engineering Drawings/ blueprints and work orders to determine appropriate operations to be performed. 
  • Lays out work according to Engineering Drawings.
  • Sets up and operates gas welding machines, and plasma arc torches
  • Weld parts according to work orders, blueprint layouts and verbal instructions.
  • Maintains accurate Schedules, record keeping of settings, and controls for repeat applications.
  • Uses inspection gauges, such as scales and levels.
  • Trains less experienced employees in set?up and quality production standards.
  • Assists in scheduling work load, and recommends tooling needs to save time.
  • Reports production discrepancies to management.
  • Orders consumables for welding area.
  • Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
  • Pulls required parts from inventory per established procedures. 
  • Completes fabrication by hose cutting and crimping, welding, pipe-fitting, drilling, sawing, grinding, testing and other procedures. 
  • Uses tape measure and carpenter or combination squares. 
  • Performs spot checks of products to ensure adherence to approved quality standards. 
  • Records labor and parts used in assembly and fabrication on documents per established procedures. 
  • Monitors related supplies and requisitions necessary additions. 
  • Reports any malfunctions or equipment problems to supervisor. 
Background Profile
  • 2+ years of relevant technical schooling 
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • Prior fabricating & welding/ pipefitting experience required.
  • Manually lifting up to 70 pounds. 
  • Use of written and oral communication. 
  • Capable of standing/walking more than 80% of work time. 
  • 100% of working time (except for assigned breaks) is spent on the production floor.
