Welder

Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire 1st shift Welder job in Rochester, NY area for our client, a growing manufacturer of quality metal fabrications serving a diverse clientele, including distribution centers and onsumer goods. In this role, you will perform all phases of the MIG/TIG welding function, set up machinery, tools, and parts for job completion, and reference production documentation for job specifics. You'll help resolve production, quality, and engineering issues, and ensure machines are maintained to safety and quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that is expanding and adding a new location. Pay for this position is 20 to 32 dollars per hour, based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities for the 1st shift Welder job in the East Rochester, NY area include:

• Performing all phases of the MIG/TIG weld function

• Setting up machinery, tools, and parts for job completion

• Referencing production documentation for job specifics

• Setting up and running jobs as required, resolving problems as needed

• Assisting in the resolution of production, quality, and engineering issues

• Ensuring machines are maintained per safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on MIG and TIG welding experience

• MIG/TIG welding certification preferred

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use quality inspection equipment (calipers, height stand, protractor)

• Ability to wear a respirator and other required PPE, including welding gloves, helmet, and flame-resistant clothing

• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
