Welders Helper
Pay: $16 per hour
Shift: 6am - 6:30pm
Weekend Shift Friday - Sunday
The Welders Helper assists skilled welders in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures and equipment. This role supports daily welding operations by preparing materials, maintaining tools, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist welders with setup and execution of welding and fabrication tasks
Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and positioning metal components
Operate basic hand tools, grinders, and other shop equipment
Hold and align parts for welding, bolting, or riveting
Clean weld areas and finished products to remove slag and debris
Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and workspaces
Follow safety procedures and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
Move materials and equipment using hoists, forklifts, or by hand (as required)
Support inspection and quality checks of completed welds
Perform general labor duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, or welding environment is a plus
Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in welding/fabrication
Ability to read tape measures and follow instructions
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Dependable and punctual
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods
Comfortable working in hot, noisy, or dusty environments
