Structural Welder
Well established, reputable and growing structural steel fabricating and contracting company has an opportunity for a structural welder. We specialize in manufacturing, installation and retro fits of structural steel projects.
The structural welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling structural steel components using various welding techniques in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all steel products meet company and industry standards for strength, accuracy, and durability.
If you have a minimum of Two (2) plus years’ verifiable experience with MIG, TIG and Stick welding, are a self-starter, have a professional attitude and appearance, and possess attention to detail, you may qualify for this opportunity.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Welds Components in flat, vertical, horizontal or overhead positions
· Ignite torches and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded
· Align structures or plate sections to assemble machinery frames from blueprints
· Set up and measure assemblies while selecting appropriate methods
· Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
· Must follow all OSHA safety rules regarding proper protective safety equipment at all times
· Monitor the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material
· Represent the company in a professional manner to prospects and clients
· Ability to recognize weld discontinuities
Essential Requirements:
· Two (2) plus years of verifiable experience of high quality welding (MIG, TIG and Stick) in a variance of steel base welds
· Demonstrated experience in reading plans, drawings, blueprints, specifications
· Knowledge and experience of welding principles and capable at a variety of assembly type welds and other welding operations
· Experience of metals and capable of welding objects or fixtures to specification from drawings
· Knowledge of FCAW (flux core arc welding) and GMAW (gas metal arc welding)
· Ability to pass American Welding Society (AWS) vertical, horizontal and overhead plate welding test
· Valid Drivers License
· High School Diploma or GED
· Welding courses or technical schooling certificates preferred
