About Us

Cleaveland/Price specializes in the design and manufacture of high voltage disconnect switches and switch automation products. The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE,ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications.

All company operations take place in a modern 218,300 sq. ft. multi-site facility situated on 20 acres east of Trafford, PA. The facility houses virtually all resources for product realization, including engineering, supply chain, parts fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and testing. Fabrication capabilities include laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC punching, and automated bending and forming. The company also utilizes specialized processes, such as MIG and TIG welding, friction welding, silver and tin electroplating, and silver brazing.

Your Goal

Welds, cuts, and brazes metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment. Fabricates parts out of metal, using intense heat or other methods of fusing metal pieces together. Fabricates and assembles metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools. Produces metal products according to customer or employer specifications. Utilizes welding machines to repair and maintain metal equipment and structures of various sizes.

Your Responsibilities
  • Reads blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures.
  • Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Sets up components for welding according to specifications.
  • Gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
  • Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
  • Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
  • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
  • Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
  • Ensures work practices are compliant with all OSHA and ISO standards.
  • Ensures proper utilization of required PPE and task-specific tools and equipment to ensure the highest level of safety for self and others.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
  • Follows all company and job-specific safety rules
Your Background
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowlegde or prior experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA, etc.)
  • Knowledge of prior experience using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)
  • Professional welding certification, such as AWS, is a plus
  • Ability to demonstrate required proficiency level/competency to successfully perform job and operate related equipment, machines and tools
Physical Requirements
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.
  • Requires concentration, accuracy, and focused mental effort while multi-tasking in a team environment.
  • Ability to wear standard personal protective equipment (PPE) required while on the shop floor or in other work area where mandated (i.e. steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and/or other applicable PPE).
