Job Title: Welder / Fabricator
Job Description
This role is a hands-on welder and fabricator position focused on modifying and fitting truck trailers to support the installation of vehicle-mounted aerial lifts and truck bodies. You will complete your own layouts and fabrication work to meet precise specifications, ensuring that trailers are correctly prepared for platform installation. Working at a Southwest facility dedicated to aerial lift and truck body customization, you will read blueprints, follow detailed work instructions, and perform high-quality MIG welds that ensure the durability and structural integrity of specialized equipment used across power distribution, telecommunications, landscaping, transportation, and other fleet-supported services.
Responsibilities
+ Weld metal components and assemblies using MIG welding techniques, including overhead, vertical, and flat positions.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, process routings, schematics, and work instructions to correctly install truck body components and prepare trailers for platform installations.
+ Construct and fabricate parts according to specifications using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
+ Lay out, modify, and fit truck trailers to meet the required specifications for aerial lift and truck body installations.
+ Identify, request, and requisition parts needed for fabrication, installation, or repair work.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 2 years of experience as a production or installation MIG welder, including vertical overhead welding.
+ Ability to pass a MIG welding test demonstrating proficiency in overhead, vertical, and flat welding techniques.
+ Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, process routings, and detailed work instructions.
+ Proficiency in the safe use of welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how fabricated components integrate into truck bodies and aerial lift systems.
Work Environment
This is a first-shift opportunity with a consistent schedule from Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Overtime hours on Friday, which are expected to be common for the foreseeable future, run from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The facility is a smaller, non-climate-controlled environment organized into different work bays, where most people have their own workstation and can focus on their assigned builds.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
