We are seeking a MIG Welder to join our team in Wheat Ridge, CO!

The MIJ Welder is responsible for the fit-up, assembly, and welding of Monolithic Isolation Joints (MIJs) in accordance with work orders, engineering drawings, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), production schedules, and applicable ASME and API code requirements. This position manufactures critical oil and gas pipeline components while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Hours: 6 am- 4:30 pm

Pay: $27-$30/hr DOE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, work orders, travelers, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

• Weld carbon steel pipe and flange assemblies ranging from 6” to 48” diameter with wall thicknesses from .280” to 1.5” on grades including X42, X52, X60, X65, and X70.

· Perform multi-stage weld sequences including W1, W2, and W3 operations in accordance with production and code requirements.

· Perform welding using MIG as the primary process, with Submerged Arc (Sub Arc) and TIG welding as required.

· Complete welds in 1G roll flat and 2G welding positions in accordance with job and WPS specifications.

· Assemble MIJ components including pups, flanges, GRE segments, O-rings, and related components prior to welding.

· Operate and assist with press setup to place MIJ assemblies under specified load requirements prior to welding.

· Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as trained and authorized.

· Monitor heat input and welding conditions to prevent damage to GRE segments, O-rings, and other temperature-sensitive components during welding operations.

· Use overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and material handling equipment to safely move pipe, flanges, and MIJ assemblies.

· Perform fit-up, alignment, tacking, grinding, and preparation of weld joints.

· Use grinders, hand tools, plasma cutting equipment, and beveling equipment as required.

· Visually inspect welds for quality, weld profile, and compliance with specifications.

· Support NDT preparation and ensure welds are ready for inspection and testing.

· Complete ERP transactions accurately and timely.

· Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.

· Communicate quality concerns, material issues, equipment problems, or production delays to the Lead or Supervisor.

· Follow all company safety requirements, welding procedures, quality standards, and operating procedures.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong welding knowledge and experience in MIG welding processes.

· Working knowledge of Sub Arc and TIG welding processes preferred.

· Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, weld symbols, WPS documents, and production documentation.

· Understanding of ASME and API welding code requirements.

· Basic understanding of non-destructive examination (NDE/NDT) methods and weld acceptance criteria.

· Strong understanding of weld fit-up, heat control, weld quality, and defect prevention.

· Ability to identify weld discontinuities and quality issues.

· Ability to safely operate welding equipment, grinders, hand tools, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment.

· Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to adapt to changing production schedules and priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· Previous welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.

· MIG welding experience required.

· Experience with Sub Arc and TIG welding preferred.

· Experience welding pipe and flange assemblies preferred.

· Experience working to ASME and API code preferred.

· Ability to pass applicable weld qualification tests.

· Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications and qualifications.

· Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.

· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and wrist movements.

· Ability to work in physically demanding production environments.

· Ability to wear required PPE including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
