Title Welder Work Group Operations (Supporting Mechanical and Industrial Systems) Primary Location 95% Field; 5% Office/Administration/Sales Support Summary Objective The Marshall Industrial Technologies (MIT) Welder is managed directly by the foreman and works on a single mechanical project, or multiple smaller scope mechanical projects on a single site; pipe fitter shall possess the ability to work independently and be self-motivated; pipe fitter shall execute their work by following design and code requirements and shall perform all pipe-fitting duties safely at an industrial site. Shall be able to read and interpret information for construction and/or fabrication according drawing and bid package information. General Responsibilities · Welder is able to weld various piping:

• Stick (SMAW), Tig (GTAW), Mig (GMAW), Flux Cored (FCAW)
• Welding quality shall meet standards and codes, defect free and must pass visual and x-ray quality inspection. · Able to safely use various types of processing equipment and machinery · Knowledge of valves, fittings, filters, and associated parts for piping systems · Must have a valid license and able to operate the following: ü Company trucks (DOT) ü fork truck ü High-reach equipment up to 45 feet ü Able to work off of elevated platforms (i.e. scaffolding, high-reach equipment, elevated pipe-racks · Must be able to operate the following tools: ü Pipe threading machine ü Burning Torch ü Grinder ü Port-a-Band ü Chain Fall ü Hand Tools · Perform other related duties as assigned. · Ensures housekeeping conformance of jobsite, including trailers, trucks, laydown, and waste storage areas, to Marshall and/or customer standards. · Develops and maintains their own technical competence. · Completes other tasks as assigned by Service Rep or Foreman. Measurable Results · Safety (Personal Total Recordable Incident Rate) · Quality (# of weld errors, defects, and rework incidents) · Project productivity (On time completion, absenteeism, training completion, etc.) · Housekeeping (Service Rep audit score, Customer Complaint tracking, etc.) · Effective completion of work and communication with foreman and team members Working Relationships · The Welder reports to a Foreman or Service Rep Technical Qualifications · High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or at least five (5) years of experience working in the mechanical technologies or plumbing industry.

• Climb stepladders and extension ladders
• Pass pulmonary tests to wear respirator
• Work from a raised platform
• Climb stairs
• Operate tools properly and safely
• Operate high reaches, scissor lifts, fork-trucks, cranes, if properly trained.

• Employee may be required to use drills, welding equipment, saws, ladders, levels, wrenches, hammers, safety equipment, all tools in the requirements list, etc..
