About the role

We are seeking Welding Assistants to support our fabrication team with daily shop operations. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on welding experience gained through personal projects, informal training, or trade education who are eager to grow their skills. Responsibilities include assisting with material preparation, equipment setup, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn in a team-focused setting. What you'll do

• Assist welders with preparing materials, setting up equipment, and supporting daily fabrication tasks
• Measure, cut, and position materials for welding and assembly
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Operate basic tools and equipment under supervision
• Follow all safety procedures and support the team as needed

Required Qualifications

• Basic understanding of welding concepts (MIG, TIG, or stick preferred)
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, bending)
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on welding experience through personal projects, apprenticeships, or work experience
• Completion of or enrollment in a welding or trade program
• Familiarity with shop tools and fabrication environments

Requirements: 

• Based in the United States
• Willing to work on-site in Austin, TX
