Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking experienced Fitter Welders to join a manufacturing team in Owasso. This position is responsible for fitting and welding stainless steel and structural components used in turbine exhaust panels and intake filtration systems. Successful candidates must have strong blueprint reading skills, precision fit-up experience, and the ability to produce high-quality welds in a fabrication environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous fitter/welder experience required
Experience performing MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) welding
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
Excellent fit-up and layout abilities
Ability to produce quality welds that meet engineering specifications
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fit and weld stainless steel and structural components according to engineering drawings and specifications
Fabricate exhaust panels for turbines and intake filtration systems
Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
Perform accurate fit-up and alignment of components prior to welding
Complete high-quality MIG and Flux Core welds that meet production and quality standards
Inspect completed assemblies for dimensional accuracy and weld quality
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe operating condition
Follow all company safety procedures and fabrication standards
Assist with additional fabrication and welding duties as assigned
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:
3G MIG Weld Test
3G Flux Core Weld Test
Blueprint Reading & Fit-Up Test(Required for all applicants)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience fabricating stainless steel assemblies
Previous work on turbine exhaust systems or industrial filtration equipment
Knowledge of structural fabrication practices and welding procedures
Experience in heavy industrial or custom fabrication environments
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around heavy steel, welding equipment, heat, sparks, and industrial machinery
Work Environment
Heavy industrial fabrication and manufacturing facility
