Job Title: Welding Inspector (Certified)
Location: Sinking Spring, PA
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to inspect structural steel fabrication, welds, and finished products for compliance with blueprints, specifications, and industry standards. This role will ensure quality throughout the fabrication process while supporting corrective actions and maintaining inspection documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process fabrication, welds, bolting, coatings, and finished products.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, welding symbols, ASTM codes, AISC standards, and applicable DOT requirements.
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools and document results.
- Identify quality issues, coordinate corrective actions, and maintain inspection records.
- Support NDE requirements, quality audits, operator training, and communication with outside inspectors.
Requirements:
- Active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required (D1.1 or D1.5)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in steel fabrication, welding inspection, or a related industry.
- Strong blueprint reading skills and knowledge of welding processes, structural steel fabrication, and inspection tools.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards, including ASTM, AISC, and applicable welding and bolting requirements.
