Internship Program Overview

As an Accelevation intern, you''ll receive on-the-job training, one-on-one mentorship, and opportunities to build your professional skills and confidence.

In addition to on-the-job learning, you'll participate in professional development sessions and lunch and learn discussions with leaders from different manufacturing departments.

Upon successful completion of the internship, interns will be considered for continued employment with Accelevation.

Your Impact

As a Welding Intern for Accelevation, you will learn our processes for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and products using various welding techniques and equipment. This role will teach you to set up parts for welding, utilize hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures while ensuring precision and quality. You'll also learn how to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to execute work accurately. Key tasks include welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing metal surfaces to meet specifications and safety standards.

Your Day-to-Day Learning Tasks

  • Gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job
  • Repair and fabricate various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and MIG welding techniques
  • Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage
  • Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded
  • Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area
  • Notify Team Leader when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Perform Quality Control and assist in processing all required documentation
  • Perform Prep work and grinding

Required Qualifications

  • Must be actively enrolled in a relevant CTC program or adult education program through an accredited career center, high school, or community college
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of this internship (August 2026)
  • Good basic understanding of welding safety and operations
  • Strong interest in building a career in manufacturing
  • Willingness to learn and ability to take feedback
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employees must be able to talk, hear, and frequently sit, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Regular lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs is required. Vision requirements include close and color vision and focus adjustment. Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, and explosives. Noise levels can be very loud, requiring ear protection.
