Welding Technician
1st Shift | 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Monday - Friday
Pay Rate: $32.06/hr
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Welding Technician to support manufacturing operations through the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of production tooling, fixtures, and related equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring tooling remains production-ready, performing welding and fabrication work, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, repair, and modify production fixtures, tooling, and related equipment.
- Perform MIG and spot welding repairs to restore tooling to required specifications.
- Fabricate prototype fixtures, racks, and other shop projects as needed.
- Review production schedules to ensure tooling availability and readiness.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical layouts.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Recommend and implement tooling improvements to enhance productivity and workflow.
- Document completed repairs and maintenance activities.
- Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to support manufacturing goals.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of welding and fabrication experience.
- Strong MIG welding experience required; spot welding experience preferred.
- TIG and stick welding experience is a plus.
- Experience fabricating with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with common fabrication tools and equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
